Thinking about studying and traveling in Europe? I'm here to tell you how my student life in Germany is, and how I manage to travel around Europe inexpensively!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm a student from Taiwan now doing my Master's degree in Aachen, Germany.

Coming from Asia to Europe, I'm very keen on exploring what this continent offers. As a student, I don't have big budgets for traveling, but I do find ways to travel frequently without spending a fortune.

This includes: earning money in my free time, booking low-priced transport tickets with tricks, and spending nothing (or little) on accommodation during travel.

So either you're looking for tips about cutting your travel costs, or merely considering coming to Germany to do a degree, you're at the right place!

Follow up from my last post Why I chose Germany for studying abroad?  This time I'd like to share with you the perks of being a student in Germany, in a more detailed way!  If you're thinking about coming to Germany for an exchange or a degree, be sure to read this one :D 1. No high tuition fee Maybe you've heard that studying in the US could cost you a small fortune, but studying in Germany is not the case!  In many German states, no tuition fee is charged because public universities are funded by federal states. Why I chose Germany for studying abroad?

So in this post, I'd like to talk about why made me decide to come to Germany for studying, my Master's degree, specifically. A little background of myself... I'm a Taiwanese having done my Bachelor's in Taiwan, and now doing my Master's in Aachen, Germany. My major is engineering-related. Actually, the idea of coming to Germany didn't come into my mind until the third year in my Bachelor's. At all times studying abroad sounded too "luxurious" to me, and that's mainly because when talking about studying abroad, most Taiwanese would firstly think about the US, and that's indeed fairly expensive (at least the tuition fee.) However, one day I walked by our university library and there was a presentation of studying in Germany, by DAAD, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (or "German Academic Exchange Service" in English.)
